General Terms and Conditions (GTC) for zettatec GmbH (storagecenter)

These General Terms and Conditions (hereinafter "GTC") govern the relationship between the Customer and zettatec GmbH (hereinafter "storagecenter") with regard to the use of storagecenter's services.

1. Subject matter of the agreement

1.1 The Provider shall provide the Customer with storage capacity on its servers to store and retrieve digital data (hereinafter "Data").

1.2 The Customer may use the Provider's services in accordance with the terms and conditions set forth in this Agreement.

2. Data protection and data security

2.1 The Provider undertakes to take appropriate measures to protect the Customer's Data. This includes security precautions against unauthorized access, data loss and data corruption.

2.2 Both storagecenter and the Customer shall ensure compliance with data protection within their respective spheres of influence and responsibility. storagecenter shall collect and process personal data as described in storagecenter's privacy policy, in accordance with any additional agreements with the Customer and in compliance with applicable data protection law.

2.3 The customer shall be solely responsible for backing up its own data.

3. Use of the services

3.1 The Customer undertakes to use the Provider's services only for lawful purposes and not to carry out any illegal or harmful activities and shall be liable for all damage caused to storagecenter or other participants on the server by infringements.

3.2 The customer may not use the services for the storage or distribution of illegal, offensive or defamatory content.

3.3 The Customer shall not be permitted to provide storagecenter's services and products to third parties for a fee.

3.4 Fair use policy: storagecenter subscriptions are intended for one customer at a time. If the use deviates significantly from normal use or if there are indications that the bandwidth is being used excessively, for example for the business-related provision of services for several end customers such as website hosting and other services (e.g. download portal etc.), storagecenter reserves the right at any time to restrict or discontinue the provision of services (temporarily or permanently) or to take other suitable measures such as subsequent billing for excessive data volume.

3.5 The customer undertakes to provide storagecenter with truthful information at all times.

4. Fees and payments

4.1 The fees for the use of the services shall be charged in accordance with the prices set by the Provider.

4.2 The customer's payment obligation shall commence upon conclusion of the contract or upon use of the service.

4.3 Storagecenter sends invoices 30 days after the conclusion of the contract if the storage exceeds 100 GB. The highest measured storage space requirement since the last invoice shall be invoiced.

4.4 The customer undertakes to pay the fees on time and shall bear all associated costs.

4.5 If the Customer fails to pay an invoice within the specified period, storagecenter may charge reminder fees.

4.6. storagecenter reserves the right to hand over the collection of its overdue receivables from the Customer to a debt collection agency. The Customer undertakes to bear all associated costs.

5. Termination

5.1. storagecenter and the Customer may terminate the contract at any time by giving 30 days' notice by e-mail to the e-mail address provided by the Customer for contract-related notifications. If the contract is terminated before the monthly billing, the customer will be charged for the full 30 days.

5.2 The Provider reserves the right to terminate the Services and the Agreement without notice if the Customer breaches these GTC or applicable laws.

5.3 All data shall be deleted by storagecenter immediately after the contract expires. The customer shall be responsible for backing up data in a timely manner.

6. Exclusion of liability

6.1. storagecenter shall not be liable for direct or indirect damages due to technical problems, server failure, data loss, transmission errors, data insecurity or other reasons. storagecenter shall in no event be liable for loss of profit or consequential damages.

6.2 The Provider shall not be liable for interruptions or failures of its services due to unforeseen circumstances or maintenance work.

7. Changes to the GTC

7.1 The Provider reserves the right to amend these GTC at any time. If such a change involves price increases or service restrictions to the detriment of the Customer during the term of the agreement, storagecenter shall inform the affected Customer accordingly. The Customer shall have the right to terminate the agreement if it does not agree to the changes.

8. Final provisions

8.1 This Agreement is governed by the laws of Switzerland. The ordinary courts at the registered office of storagecenter shall have exclusive jurisdiction. Alternatively, storagecenter shall be entitled to sue the customer at its registered office.

8.2 Should any provision of these GTC be declared invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue to apply.

You can manage your data (upload, view, share, delete, etc.) via our web client (Login -> WebClient) or you can use S3 API compatible software: Veeam Backup, Veritas Backup, Duplicati, Cyberduck, S3 Browser are the most common. If you already have a NAS from Synology, QNAP, Western Digital in use, then you can use their backup software and additionally back up your data in our data center. These are also S3 API compatible and easy to set up.

Yes, we can recommend three products that can be used completely free of charge. Duplicati Backup Software, rclone (command line) and WinSCP Databrowser. With WinSCP, the URL style: path must be selected in the advanced settings. With rclone you must use the Ceph configuration.
S3 Browser, Cyberduck, Mountainduck and S3 Drive can be used free of charge with restrictions.

1. Install Hyper Backup on the NAS and open the application
2. Select S3 Storage under Cloud Service for the backup destination
3. Under Destination Settings, select Custom Server URL, Signature Version: v4 and Request Style: Path-Style. You can find your server address and login data in the Customer Portal (login on our website).

A standard S3 backup repository behaves in the same way as a conventional backup storage.
With a scale-out repository, you have the option of relieving your local data storage capacity and archiving backup data on storagecenter.ch S3 storage, for example.

2. Select New backup job, then select the folder if you wish to Backup.

Yes, you can access and manage your data at any time via our web client (Login - WebClient) or an S3-compatible app such as S3 Files, Filebase and Simple S3 Browser. You can get your server address and login data from the Customer Portal (login on our website).

We always charge monthly (for the first time 30 days after the order) for the highest measured storage space usage for the previous billing period.

Access data and communication with our services are encrypted (end-to-end encryption) and cannot be viewed by third parties. For the highest possible protection of your data, you can upload it encrypted via your backup software. Please read our privacy policy for more information.
